Who Does She Think She Is?

This week in the woods ...

Sledding, anyone?

The perfect sledding hill

Monsters!

Run for it, we've been spotted.
And on another note entirely: You must check out this documentary"Who Does She Think She Is?" about "five fierce women who refused to choose" between traditional roles and their art. Go to the link and watch this trailer. You can arrange to have a screening in your town.

Art Journaling: You and your PENS! Video

Ha! Yes, I love pens. This could be an excellent artist date. Take your journal to the art supply store and pen shop. Art supply shops usually have pens for you to sample so try them out.

Here's the vid. Yes, that is black ink all over my fingers. Go on over to YouTube to rate this video and comment (only if you like it, though). The channel is either DianaTro or DianaTrout. (Geez, you'd think I'd know my YouTube address: geek with a steep learning curve.)

I have tons of bloggy stuff coming but there has been an upheaval around here. My mother-in-law is sick and living with us temporarily (send good vibes).

Look for a lovely little story later this week.

Journaling and Artist Date

This is rollicking good fun. I was thinking about grids one day and took my camera for a walk. The picture of the telephone pole with nails and stapes was my favorite by far. The cracks in the street was a bit of a stretch, right? As far as I'm concerned, bisecting lines makes it a grid.

Try this: Grab your camera (and long johns) and think about one thing: pattern, line, shape, leaves, grids, texture, color (just one). Go take a bunch of pictures.
When I have time, I upload the digital pictures and insert them into a Word document. Make them pretty small. You can print out the page on sticker paper or regular paper or photo transfer paper or ... whatever you want. Use them in a journal page.
