I arrived home from Art & Soul late on Monday, May 24. Unpacked, did laundry, repacked and flew out first thing (ick, I'm not a first thing kinda girl) to Colorado where I taped a DVD for Cloth Paper Scissors. It was a blast to tape in a real studio, with real video cameras and professionals (who were incredibly kind and reassuring - thanks Rachel, Garrett and Helen, you folks really rock).
The video is all about surface design on paper (working title:
Beautiful Playful Paper Backgrounds). Messy, glorious, roll-in-it, color, texture, pattern. All my favorite yummy stuff: inks, paste paper, watercolors and a bit on designing carved eraser stamps (emphasis on design). I kept thinking ... "yeah, this is just fun." I was only nervous when I needed to talk to the camera at the beginning and end of each chapter. It was just like how I am in my own studio outside of that bit so I was very relaxed and even forgot to put my little gloves on when I did the ink part ... just like home. With all of those great supplies in front of me, how could I help but do a bit of off-roading? Yes, I'll admit it: I didn't always stick to the script (I was gonna, but I just couldn't).
I'll let you folks know when it is out. I feel pretty durned good about it. This is a class I've wanted to teach with fresh solid content AND I am wearing my favorite outfit and makeup, though does it look like I forgot to comb my hair?
