Painting Process, Round 4

This is the part where it gets harder to share, but I'm suckin' it up as this is the whole point of my sharing this process with you.
There was a problem with the comp on this painting and I removed two of the houses before moving on. That is why there is that ghostly image smack in the middle of this first canvas. What was I thinking: putting an object right in the middle? Ah well. No worries. Something will occur. The houses were stuck pretty well down with gel medium so I soaked them with water and began peeling and sanding. The white house on the left hand side was looking kinda cool as I was peeling it off so I painted it white. Yeah, I think it's on the right track. The red arrow-like shape and the two polka dots right in the middle of the canvas is the ink that bled off of the orizomegami paper that I used there. I'll play around with that.
This part of the process is really great because the conversation has begun. At first I was making the decisions but now? well the picture is starting to suggest things and I really like that. The way I paint is to really let go of any sort of idea that I originally had and let the canvas sort of evolve organically as it will.

Have a great weekend, everyone and thank you for your comments and emails. I enjoy each and every one of them.

I really like (and learn a lot from it) when you change something because it "didn't work", and when you like that it takes on a life of its own and does something other than what you originally planned...Thank you for sharing this! ~Kathy
