Empty Nesting

18years ago ...

Big changes here in the Trout house. Bess is officially moved to Maryland for her first post-graduate job and Dan (my baby) moved into college yesterday. Happy/sad times. Although sad doesn't really fit, does it?

First of all, Jon and are are empty-nesters! WOOHOO! We are looking forward to being less "responsible" and more spur-of-the-moment. I'm anticipating no problems at all in adjusting to less shopping, cooking, laundry, etc.

I will miss their comings and goings, the lively conversations, the small kindnesses and hugs. The jokes and noisy dinnertimes.

It will be an adjustment, that's for sure, but knowing both my kids are in good places is an ease on our minds.

Of course, as Jon keeps pointing out, I still have him!

Back to art tomorrow.
In the meantime, give your kids an extra hug today from me.

That was a sad time for me too. More time for art and sewing, but less silly time where the world turned upside down on a dime:) Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment! That is always appreciated.....Hugs, Linda

This hit home for me- my oldest is starting kindergarten next week- but I see myself '18 years later'. Happy/sad!
