Stewie's on the job

My mind wanders and meanders along a dusty old road, sometimes through a high grassy field; a blind path. Does your mind do this too?

Sometimes I feel as though my mind is a high speed train; flying along a smooth track way faster than I could possibly keep up, I just hang on and roll with it.

Sometimes I can't even remember what started the meander or the high speed train ride. Which little branches of the road led to another and then another and then, yet another, and I find myself in a very different place than before. The thoughts rushing like a flood. Does that happen to you? Please say "yes." This wandering mind is a part of me that I embrace but it does gets me into trouble.

I am lost in the details and am losing sight of the landscape. I cannot see the forest for the stinkin' trees. (I love the trees, shady green, rustling with the wind, bare-bones against the sky.)

I must tidy myself up. I need a boss, a supervisor to help me institue a schedule. I resist schedules unless someone else has imposed it. I'm not enough of a control freak to ride herd on myself. I've been thinking about this all weekend and have decided to promote Stewie as my organizational guru. If you don't know about Stewie, he's my critic and is a very big pest when he manages to sneak into the studio with me. Stewie is my bean counter, my financial advisor; my tax guy. Scheduling is just the job for him. Needless to say, there will be a probationary period.

Just wanted to let you know about this change. It may mean that my Etsy shop, my blog and my YouTube videos may be more consistently updated. Wish me luck.

A heartfelt thank you for your lovely comments. Each one means a great deal to me. They make me smile or chortle or just feel the deep pleasure of the common bond.

Don't overwhelm yourself! It is easy to put so much pressure on yourself that we see EVERY tree in the forest. :)

Could you send Stewie over here when you're finished with him?

I like the trees too.

Yes my mind does that too. It's if it forgets to return that you really have to be concerned

I so understand! Somehow though, eventually the forest clears and you can make your way thru again. Keep the faith-and keep that Stewie close by!Sounds like it's time for more spill writing pages! You have been so instrumental in helping me break thru artistically.I am forever grateful for that. Linda

I think that a wandering mind is the sign of a creative mind. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!
