Bloom

Spring always brings a great creative outpouring and I've been taking full advantage of this energy by designing new classes and experimenting with ideas that are flooding me.
So what do you do in the off hours during times of intense focus at work? I love to have something fun and easy to do at the end of a long days. Kanzashi has filled the bill over the last week. I love Kanzashi in Bloom by Diane Gilleland. Although Kanzashi are a bit fiddly at first, once you've made a couple of these lovely fabric blooms it's a surprisingly simple and soothing craft. This is also a great craft that you can break down into steps and the unfinished project can be set aside in each stage. Perfect for those times when you just need a little sumpin' sumpin'.
If I'm a bit irregular in posting over the next few weeks, you'll understand.

Diana,
Ever since reading your book, I've been hooked and can't wait to see what you are up to. I don't see myself doing the flowers because they look a little fiddly to me and I have a little trouble with fiddly bits--trust me, you should have seen my attempts at origami! I have now read through all your posts that are available on your blog, this is something that I feel compelled to do when I find one that I like. I love it when you put up the videos. It makes an art challenged person such as myself feel like even I might be able to make something that will give me joy!

I bought your book just before taking some time off thinking it would be a good way to rekindle my creative side and to disengage my brain from too much left brain activity... I just love it! I have been spilling for a few weeks now and feel I can just pick up where I left off whenever I have a few minutes. Thank you for this excellent creative resource. Like Dora, I keep coming back to your blog to see what other excellent ideas you have posted. Merci!

I have this book and two of her ebooks, and I LOVE what she does with everything. If she would post some photos of what she does with donuts and pizza, that would be the absolute LIVING END!

forget I said that.
